Why Don't We . . . ??? Highlights

(Note:  many of these concepts are taught in schools but need to be reinforced by the community as a whole . . . literally as people walk down the street and just say hi.)
  • Why don't we . . . teach kids that the individuals who want them to try drugs and use drugs want to make them sick?
  • Why don't we . . . teach kids that smoking cigarettes is just like taking drugs and the motives of the individuals who market and sell cigarettes to children are the same as the motives of the individuals who sell drugs?
  • Why don't we . . . teach kids very specifically about what it means to drink responsibly?
  • Why don't we . . . teach kids that individuals who are physically, mentally and emotionally abusive and who would teach them to be so are not mentally and emotionally healthy?
  • Why don't we . . . teach children that television and other forms of multimedia can affect and infect their minds?
  • Why don't we . . . teach children when they are very young that as adults, we don't have all the answers?
  • Why don't we . . . teach all children that each generation is responsible for the welfare of the next and if we can find ways to help individuals, groups and communities stay more physically, mentally and emotionally healthy, we will all live in a better world?

Perhaps when we don't . . . teach children things, it's because we're not ready to start addressing the shortcomings of our own generation and those that have gone before.

Perhaps it's time we did . . .
